A woman received hundreds of supportive messages after she shared how a furious mother ordered her to leave the beach because of her bikini.
Savannah Sims took to TikTok and explained that she was sunbathing on a beach in Hawaii when a family arrived.
“So I just had the worst experience in Hawaii on the big island. I lay down at a spot that’s right off the road and this family gets out of their car and sits down kind of close to me,” she said.
“And the mum starts saying to her boyfriend, ‘no I can’t have that and ‘that’s not OK with me,’” she continued.
“I look up and she’s looking at me, so I ask if there’s an issue. She said she doesn’t want to see my butt and lady parts.”
Sims then showed her bikini on camera and explained: “To be clear, this is my bathing suit. Pretty frigging normal right? And this girl over there said that this happens all the time and she didn’t come here to see my body.”
The woman further said: “I asked her what the issue was and what I needed to cover because she was with a kid so I was trying to be respectful.
“She just said that she wanted me to leave, I was in her way. So I got up and left and she said ‘mahalo’, and it ruined my day.”
In another video, Sims said that the ‘hypocrite’ woman was wearing a thong bikini.
“She is wearing a thong bikini. Which is totally fine, I wear those all the time. But to call me out and take off your skirt and be rocking a G-string, you’re either a hypocrite or it wasn’t about what I was wearing.”
Her video went viral and received supportive messages, with one person commenting: “Don’t let one bad apple ruin your vision, there’s a lot of Aloha on the islands.”
Another wrote: “You should have stayed, put your earphones in and ignored her.”
