There is always something in our life which we are attached to since childhood. A woman who was crazy for horses since childhood had a last wish to meet and pat a horse before taking her last breath.

Cecile Buckton was fond of horses since childhood and she has been training and showing them for years. But in 2014, at the age of 42, the mother of three was diagnosed with stage-four bowel cancer.

But the disease didn’t stop her from riding and she continued competing with her beloved horse ‘Peanuts.’

“When I got diagnosed with bowel cancer I didn’t think I’d be able to ride him at all,” Cecile said.

“But being able to ride him kept me motivated,” she said.

Unfortunately, Cecile had to give up on her passion when she became too weak and she had last dying wish to pat a horse one last time. She never thought that she would have to live without her passion for riding.

Her dear friend Janita planned a special surprise for Cecile and fulfilled her last wish. Cecile was thrilled to meet the horse and ‘Lil’ Miss Moët’ is the first horse to ever visit a patient in their hospital bed in South Australia.

”She’s a pretty incredible little pony. She behaved herself so well,” Buckton said.

The horse was provided by the not-for-profit animal therapy enterprise, Nolton Park Horses Healing Hearts.
