A woman who jumped from her sixth-floor apartment was actually murdered by her boyfriend.
It was initially believed that 37-year-old Danielle Marrano had committed suicide after she jumped from her flat in Rockway Park, Queens in New York.
But her boyfriend told police that he killed Marrano after she allegedly revealed that she was cheating on him, Daily Star Online reported.
34-year-old Shmuel Levine has been arrested and charged with Marrano’s murder after her body was found outside the apartment building.
According to reports, the two were having a heated argument after she refused to show him her phone.
He reportedly put his girlfriend in a headlock before her boy was spotted outside the building.
The woman was rushed to Jamaica Hospital where she sadly passed away.
Detectives say they found a dent in one of Marrano’s apartment walls and discovered some of her hair on the floor.
Levine then admitted to the murder while he was in custody.
“We got into an argument about her cheating on me,” he said. “I told her I couldn’t take it anymore. She admitted to cheating on me and so then I said, ‘Can I see your phone?
“She wouldn’t give me the phone and so I forcefully tried to get the phone from her and she fought back. I put me hands around her because I just wanted to get the phone. I was wrestling with her for the phone. I grabbed her to try and get the phone and she was kicking me.”
“It was not my intention to put her in a chokehold, it was to get the phone. I grabbed the back of her hair because I was desperate to get the phone.”
