Instead of asking her friend to hang out with her, however, the text ended up with a man 30 year her junior who saw the funny side of the mistake.

“Sorry, you’ve got the wrong number. But if I wasn’t headed to work I’d be down to hang,” Henry replied to Kasey’s accidental text.

From there, the pair continued to send each other text messages and talk over the phone until they decided to go to a concert together.

“Halfway through the concert, he was standing behind me and put his hands on my hips and I could have been the woman that said, ‘Hey, Bucko! You don’t put your hands on me.’ But I just was like, ‘Oh well, this is interesting,’” Kasey, who is now 59 years old, recalled.

Following the events on the day of the concert, the couple spiced things up and got married before they knew it. After moving in together, their bond only grew stronger and Henry, who is now 29 years old, even donated one of his kidneys to his wife.

They were a “perfect immunological match,” Kasey explained, adding that Henry “stepped up like a hero.”

Despite the love they share for each other, Kasey admitted she doesn’t want to sugarcoat her love story.

“I don’t necessarily want people to look at it as a fairy tale,” she said.

“So they might meet somebody in a random way. He might be 30 years younger than them and they might go, after they’re in it, they might just be like, ‘Oh, this is hard.’ We’re a work in progress and we have worked and worked.”

As Henry added, strangers have previously mistaken his wife for his mother.

“Like Mother’s Day one year we’re at the hardware store and the cashier remarks, ‘It’s so nice of you to be helping your mother, you know, on a day like today,’” he recalled.

“And of course, you know, I stepped in to clarify, she’s not my mom. This is my wife.”
