Javed Easton from Yorkshire wanted to surprise his girlfriend for Christmas, so he decided to buy a range of cleaning equipment and wrapped up the items.
He purchased a mop, brush, rubber gloves, an ironing board cover, toilet brush, and a dustpan. He laid the gifts out for his girlfriend Chloe Hartshorne to unwrap on Christmas day. Thanks to his camera, people had a glimpse of her reaction.
In the video, Javen tells her: “Right, you can see your presents,” then he opened the kitchen door.
Chloe looked at the beautifully wrapped presents before glaring at her boyfriend. “What’s up with you?”
She added: “Are you kidding me?”
“No! I think they will come in handy, them,” Javed replied.
In a Facebook post with the clip, Javed wrote: “Why treat the lady in your life to a Michael Kors when she can have a Michael Floors?”
Chloe commented on her boyfriend’s post and wrote: “F****** sick of this s***.”
One person wrote: “I’d have launched ‘em out the window!”
Another commented: “You’ll probably get more use out of them in your new bachelor’s pad!”
Javed also explained that they had just purchased a house together and had agreed to have a $130 budget each for Christmas gifts. Aside from cleaning stuff, Javed also bought earrings while Chloe bought him hotel vouchers.
“We both share a good sense of humour together, so she took it well. She’ll plan on getting me back, but she kind of got me back in a way with the book,” Javed explained.
“She just knew I was going to play a trick on her but didn’t know what it would be. I had them hidden in my work van.”
