A woman has opened up about her unusual finger as she revealed it is growing pubic hair following a skin graft.
When Texas-based Mackenzie Brown was just two years old, her mom “slammed a door shut” on her finger and managed to tear off its tip in the process.
Following the injury, the TikTok user from Houston shared a video of her finger on the platform as she revealed she was rushed to the hospital following the incident that took place decades ago.
As the doctors performed a skin graft, they used the skin from her bikini line rather than her legs or arms because they didn’t want the scar to grow with her.
“When I was two years old, my mom slammed a door shut on my finger and it ripped off the top piece of my finger,” Brown said.
“This was back in the 90s and I got a skin graft. Instead of taking the skin from the back of my leg or a piece under my arm or something – they didn’t want the scar to grow as I grew – they took it from my groin area, my bikini line.”
While the procedure appeared to be a total success at the time, Mackenzie’s finger later healed wrong and turned brown.
“When I got home with the cast, I dunked my hand inside the toilet and it got wet inside the cast so my finger healed wrong and it turned brown which is really weird,” she added.
Not only was her finger since then left discolored but it also started growing pubic hair after she hit puberty since the skin doesn’t change its properties following a skin graft.
“When I hit puberty and I started growing hair down there, I also started growing hair on my finger. Kids found that out in school and they started calling me ‘coochie finger,’” Brown said.
After her video went viral, people were quick to question the doctors’ decision to use skin from her bikini area for fixing her finger. Some also joked that she should “throw away” her entire finger.
