Woman Feeds Hungry Kids 7 Days A Week And Offers Free Rides To School

A grandma, also known as “neighborhood nanny,” has been feeding hungry neighborhood kids 7 days a week for decades.

Alma Johnson, from Crowley, Louisiana, feeds hungry children at Kathy Apartments and even provides diapers if the parents are unable to afford it.

Johnson knows not all parents can afford Childcare. She has pledged to help those parents raise their kids.

She welcomes all children at her apartment – even those who don’t come with food.

And, she does it all for free. She said that she made a promise to God and God gave her the strength to do it.

Johnson told CBS News: “My house is never empty…I just love them, ’cause I made a promise to the Lord and he gave me the strength to do it.”

Johnson, who struggled in her childhood, just want to make sure that children in her neighborhood get the education without any struggle.

She even offers a free ride to children when they miss their school bus.

Johnson told KATC:

“I bring them to school in the morning, I’ll pick them up if it’s raining—and the Lord always blesses me with a few dollars to keep some gas in my car, so I can keep going. It just makes my heart full”.

One neighbor said: “It’s the most beautiful thing that’s going around here.”
