A woman has gone viral after revealing she pretended to be pregnant in order to smuggle an extra bag on a plane.
As Ashlin, a TikTok user known as @miniadvantures, admitted, she avoided paying extra for carrying an additional bag on her flight by concealing some of her items in her fake baby bump.
In her viral video, which has since racked up millions of views and likes, Ashlin showed her followers how she hid her extra bag under her sweater to make it look like she was pregnant before boarding the plane.
“When you get a $44 flight but can only bring a backpack,” the woman wrote before saying her baggage hack paid off.
Not only did Ashlin reveal she was able to smuggle extra baggage on her flight without paying extra but she also proudly revealed how looking pregnant helped her get boarded faster.
As the traveler added in another viral video, she was given boarding priority after the airline staff noticed that she appeared to be pregnant.
After the video went viral, fellow travelers were quick to praise the woman for the ‘life hack’. While some suggested the idea was “genius,” others pointed out that it is illegal and that the woman could be in serious trouble if the security staff found out what she was up to.
Some viewers also questioned the practicality of the plan saying the traveler would not be able to remove her sweater this way and could have problems getting through security.
Either way, no one should attempt this. Travel light or be ready to pay some extra bucks for additional baggage to be on the safe side!
