A 33-year-old woman, from Grimsby, North Lincolnshire, is left disturbed as she is due to give birth amid coronavirus lockdown.
Jenny Meecham, who is due to give birth to a girl amid coronavirus lockdown, says she will be on her own.
Jenny has her husband, Rob, her mother Janet, and her sister Lucy but if her husband gets sick, she will be on her own as her mother will look after her kids and her sister has her own family to look after.
The situation has left her disturbed and terrified.
Jenny, who already has two children, suffers from asthma and is assured she is going to have a big baby as her first two children weighed in at 10lb 8oz and 10lb 9oz respectively.
Jenny, who is a blogger and a freelance writer, fears how she will manage if she would have an induced birth or a c-section.
She says if her husband and mother show any symptoms of coronavirus, they might not be able to be by her side at the time of delivery.
Jenny said: “The plan is for Rob to drive me to hospital and the kids to go to my mum’s home. She is 70 – so in the risk category – but healthy and has been self-isolating.”
She was told by the doctors that the safest place for her is her home as coronavirus patients will come into the hospital while she gives birth.
However, Jenny feels she is likely to have a big baby and might have a c-section.
She said: “I’m dreading that because I was told I was safest at home, not in hospital.”
Jenny and her family have been self-isolating for three weeks and she is now worried as her due date is amid coronavirus lockdown and the midwife appointments have also been cancelled.
The only question she has is how she will manage all this alone. The doctors have also advised her to stay at home as it is the safest place for her right now.
But, Jenny is disturbed as she has no one to rely on in this difficult time.
Jenny is not the only one who is going through this tough time. All the pregnant women are worried about giving birth amid coronavirus lockdown.
