Dollar Trees are known for their affordable items and good deals but one branch will be known for their heartwarming story.
Louissa Lenore McKinney was buying some stuff at her local Dollar Tree when she heard something that left her teary.
It was such a heartwarming moment that she had to take a snap and share it with everyone on Facebook.
McKinney saw an old man that stopped to ask a younger woman for some help. He asked the woman: “Ma’am, would you mind helping me out with something?”
The woman said she would help him with anything he needed.
The man said: “I need help picking out a birthday card.”
“Who is it for?” she asked.
“It’s for me, if I wake up tomorrow, I’ll be 85.
“My wife wanted to get me something, but shes very sick and cannot leave the house, and I want her to know I got a birthday card from her.”
The man then told the woman he had been married to his beloved wife since they were teens. They had children together, and she stood by his side while he was in the military.
The touching moment brought tears to McKinney’s eyes as she shared the photo on Facebook. She added: “It was the picture of love you only read about. I felt so privileged to get to hear this conversation. Melted my heart. Hope you all enjoy.”
McKinney shared an update and said the lady in the picture has been in contact with the old man and his wife. She found out that the day the story occurred (February 2) was their anniversary and it was his birthday the next day.
One Facebook user commented: “Happy anniversary happy birthday happy Valentines I pray you have more years together love will keep you together forever God bless you both.”
Another wrote: “This is so awesome and heart warming at the same time.”
