A diligent woman has gone viral after disguising herself as a bush in order to secretly record the moment the boyfriend proposed to her sister.
While it’s definitely not easy catching a proposal on camera without the surprise getting ruined in the process, 23-year-old Therese Merkel from Wisconsin managed to pull it off by dressing up as a bush and waiting in ambush.
As Therese revealed, Andrew Philibeck, the boyfriend of her sister Rachel, entrusted her with his plan and asked her to record the proposal in secret.
Determined to capture the sweet moment on camera without tipping her sister off, the 23-year-old disguised as a bush and waited for the couple to arrive at the scene.
“While I was hiding, I had the perfect view of the whole thing. Andrew knew I was hiding and wasn’t even sure I was there when he walked down – that’s how baller this suit was,” the devoted sister said in an interview with Popsugar.
Fortunately, the proposal went well and Rachel gave her ‘Yes’ to Andrew.
“I revealed my organic-looking self by screaming, ‘She said yes!’ Rachel was very confused and I was legit crying tears of joy because of how special the whole event was,” Therese added.
After the unusual proposal, Rachel was rightfully in shock but that didn’t stop Therese from making her story go viral by sharing pictures on social media.
“Sister got engaged this weekend and I dressed as a bush in the wilderness to watch/capture the moment. We are one year apart… why are our lives so different rofl,” she wrote in her post.
