A 29-year-old mother has died due to complications in the £900 laser fat removal surgery to surprise her husband during a holiday.
Luz Dary Silva decided to surprise her husband on a holiday to Spain and spent £900 on laser fat removal surgery in the city of Barrancabermeja, Colombia.
Cardio Fitness clinic had an offer that included removing the fat from her abdomen, hips and back, making her six-pack more defined, and a butt lift.
Luz’s sister Nidia Patricia told her sister died due to complications after the laser lipolysis.
The next day after the surgery, she started suffering from diarrhea and low blood pressure and was rushed to the San Nicolas clinic.
Her sister said her skin turned black caused by a bacteria infection and she was then transferred to the intensive care unit of the Magdalena Medio hospital after her condition deteriorated.
Sadly, Luz died three days after undergoing £900 laser fat removal surgery at the Cardio Fitness clinic.
Doctors confirmed the cause of her death was the bacteria that had spread around her body.
The Cardio Fitness clinic, which is certified by the Health Department to carry out the surgery, has released a statement saying they are investigating Luz’s death.
Another 34-year-old woman died after undergoing liposuction and breast augmentation in South Korea.
Bonnie Evita Law, the granddaughter of Bossini founder Law Ting-pong, died after she had the procedures in January.
Her husband, Danny Chi, filed a lawsuit in a Hong Kong court against the Ollim Plastic Surgery clinic in Seoul after his wife’s death.
He said: “Her death was unfortunate, unnecessary and unlawful. It was solely as a result of their gross negligence, greed, and incompetence.”
The surgery was performed by Kim Sung Il who has 10 years of experience as a medical practitioner along with another surgeon Jung Tae Gwang and nurse Park Mi Soo.
