A 34-year-old woman died only hours after a Brazilian butt lift surgery.
Patricia Rodrigues dos Santos passed away hours after the operation in which budget silicone was injected into her bum, the Mirror reported.
She paid $384 for the butt lift surgery, which was done by Leonardo Lima de Souza in Sao Goncalo, Brazil.
Patricia reportedly left the beauty salon at 9 pm on October 20, and later complained of nausea and vomiting.
The 34-year-old was rushed to a hospital where she sadly passed away.
Two days later, Patricia was buried in the municipality of Niteroi. Her grieving family members said to local media that she had not told them about her plans of having a butt lift surgery.
Police said that they believe the woman died from a blood clot.
If tests confirm that the industrial silicone was injected into her body, massage therapist Leonardo Lima de Souza will face charges of intentional homicide.
Another person has died while undergoing a Brazilian butt lift surgery this year.
Gia Romualdo-Rodriguez, who reportedly traveled from New York to Florida to visit the clinic that is known for carrying out plastic surgeries including tummy tucks, butt lifts, and breast enlargement, passed away after suffering an embolism caused by fat injected into her bum.
The surgeon, who has no record of disciplinary action, immediately called the emergency services and Romualdo-Rodriguez was rushed to the Kendall Regional Hospital where she died.
