A woman went viral after writing a 17-page long contract concerning the relationship between her and her boyfriend.
21-year-old Annie Wright is a college student from Atlanta who forged a relationship contract with detailed terms and conditions after she fell in love with 23-year-old Michael Head.
As the girl admitted, she was previously in a toxic relationship which is why she decided to take things into her own hands by setting clear rules and boundaries after falling for Michael.
And so, the student decided to draw up a 17-page contract that details the objectives of their relationship, private info, boundaries, and hopes for the future.
Perhaps the most interesting feature of the contract were the numerous boundaries Annie had set in an attempt to allow the couple to “transform our ability to communicate and help nip issues in the bud before they overwhelm us.”
Among other rules, Annie pointed out she doesn’t want Michael to pry when she’s upset and unwilling to talk. At the same time, however, her boyfriend should not ignore her for more than 48 hours or she might assume that their relationship is over.
Annie also made it clear to her boyfriend that it is not up to him to tell her who she should be hanging out with and that she expects a romantic gesture from his side every few weeks.
As the happy couple admitted, they both agreed to draw up their own relationship contracts before getting together and presenting their terms and conditions to each other.
A year later, the couple believes making the contracts was one of the best things that happened to their relationship.
“I highly recommend it. I’m surprised more people don’t do it,” Annie said.
“We treat our relationship almost like a business interaction. We deal with conflict like partners in business would. We sit down and treat it more like we’re partners in life and love is an added bonus.”
