An ex-prostitute Michelle Wallace from Luton, Bedfordshire took drugs when she was pregnant and lost custody of her only child.
She even ruined her appearance while in the influence of heroin addiction.
The-40-year-old became infamous on the Jeremy Kyle show and appeared on stage with sunken cheeks and no teeth. But now Michelle came out clean after 20 years and trying to have another baby.
Michelle who used to sell s*x and has done shoplifting has found the love of her life in a man after being in a nine-month relationship. She is going to become a grandmother for the second time but she herself is trying to become a mother again.
She started taking drugs at the age of 15 and by 16, she was taking the party drug every day.
Michelle told Sun Online: “I’m so happy with the woman I’ve become. I used to hate looking at myself, it was like looking at a demon. Now I don’t have to hide away anymore.”
“I’d love another child. I’ve got that much love to give and I missed out on my daughter, though I’ll soon have two beautiful grandsons to keep me busy. I was a rebellious teenager,” she recalls. “I was always getting told off by teachers.”
“I had a line and it brought my waters on,” says Michelle, who also smoked weed and drank while pregnant but isn’t ashamed of her past because addiction “doesn’t discriminate.” They were on about giving me a C-section because of the baby’s heart rate.”
Her daughter Charlote was born without any surgery and Michelle started taking heroin again. “Her dad was always going out and leaving me alone so I started taking it again,” Michelle says.
“That was really difficult,” Michelle recalls. “When Charlote got older, she kept throwing it back in my face about her being in care, that I wasn’t a ‘good mom’, I needed to ‘fix up’.”
In 2009, Michelle was jailed for burglary as she constantly tried out her next fix. “I was hanging around with the wrong people, being easily led,” she says.
She became a prostitute to earn money. “I needed money and I knew people who had money who would pay me [for s*x],” she adds.
Her daughter Charlote stayed in touch her when Michelle was in foster care and she was the one who contacted Kyle Show to help her mother get clean. The boss of the show accepted the proposal and Michelle was questioned by Jeremy and her family on stage.
“Jeremy proper gave it to me but it was what I needed,” she says. “That show saved my life. It was quite upsetting to hear. I was too caught up in my own battle.”
At last, Michelle was admitted to rehab where she underwent an intense two-week detox and went through sleepless nights and hallucinations. “At the beginning, my head was telling me, ‘go there for three months, get sober, get out and you can use again’. But my head changed when I was in there,” she says. I’d just come out of rehab, that could have made me relapse.”
In March. Michelle started dating partner Chris who works in a homeless shelter. The two met at a recovery meeting and instantly fell in love. Chris proposed Michelle with a white gold ring on the beach in Benidorm during Michelle’s first ever holiday abroad in September.
“Chris got down on one knee in the moonlight,” says Michelle. It was my first time abroad, I’d never been on a plane. I loved it.”
Chris who is a former heroin and crack addict said, “I’m really proud of everything she’s achieved. She’s doing amazing.
“We’re very excited about the wedding.”
Michelle’s daughter Charlotte still lives in the West Midlands around 80 miles away from Michelle, told Sun Online: “I’m so happy I have the role model of a mom I’ve always wanted.point 462 |
