21-year-old Samantha Kershner has been charged with incest after she competed with her half-sister over who could make love with their father first.
She and her father Travis Fieldgrove, 39, were both arrested in Hastings, Nebraska after police received an alert about their bizarre relationship.
Authorities said Fieldgrove and Kershner both admitted to having a sexual and romantic relationship even though they were aware they were biologically related.
They tied the knot in October, only one month after they discovered police were investigating them for incest.
Kershner was only 17 when she first met her father three years ago as she wanted to know who her father was.
The two met and maintained a father-daughter relationship but they would not reveal how their bond turned sexual.
Kershner and Fieldgrove made love for the first time in September last year. Sources say that Kershner had a ‘jealous competition’ with her half-sister about who could have sex with their dad first.
Her mother notified the police right away about their intimate relationship in September.
Marriage licensing requirements state that both parties should give the full names of their parents but Fieldgrove is not listed as Kershner’s father on her birth certificate.
When asked by police, Fieldgrove said he did not believe she was his daughter as his name was not listed.
A paternity test revealed that there was 99.999 percent probability that Fieldgrove was her father.
Both of them were charged with one count of incest and are being held at Hall County Jail.
Kershner’s bond was set on a $20,000 bond while Fieldgrove is being held on $100,000. If convicted, they each face 8 years in jail.
