Halima Cisse and all four boys and five girls are ‘doing fine’ after a c-section in a hospital in Morocco.

The mother was flown to Morocco to make sure that her babies were delivered safely after her pregnancy attracted the attention of the leaders of the West African nation.

Mali’s health minister Fanta Siby said in a statement: “The newborns (five girls and four boys) and the mother are all doing well.”

Cisse initially thought that she was expecting seven babies as previous scans missed two of the children. All babies were delivered via c-section.

Nanuplets are rare and health complications in multiple births usually mean some of the babies don’t reach full term.

Someone else added: “What an absolute miracle that all nine survived and are doing well. Marvelous she had such extremely good care and that the babies will be cared for so well. I suspect either she has close family members and friends who will help them. I live in the picture where one baby has her hand on the one next to her. Congratulations!”
