A 93-year-old pensioner has gone viral after posing with a sign that read ‘I need more beer’ amid coronavirus lockdown.
Olive Veronesi is a lively senior from Seminole, Pennsylvania, who knows how to enjoy every day by treating herself to a can of her favorite beer.
With lockdown in place, however, the 93-year-old found herself short of beer and unable to go out to get more.
To make her problem known, Olive wrote a short and yet hilarious message on her whiteboard before posing with it at the window of her home.
“I NEED MORE BEER!!” the message read.
After a relative captured a photo of the granny holding the whiteboard and a can of Coors Light beer, the picture quickly went viral and the brewery responded by delivering 150 cans of Olive’s favorite beer to her doorstep.
“I was on my last 12 cans, I have a beer every night, you know what, beer has vitamins in it, it’s good for you, as long as you don’t overdo it,” the 93-year-old grandma told KDKA in an interview.
When speaking to the reporter, she also offered to share her beer before saying: “Something to relax, you know? I think it’s nice – something for a young lady!”
Fortunately, the company didn’t mind sharing its beer with Olive and delivered 10 cases right to her doorstep.
Speaking of the unusual delivery, Mark Linder of Molson Coors said:
“My associate and I put in 10 cases of beer, and drove up, and made sure Olive got her beer so she can continue her healthy regimen of a Coors light a day.”
