Woman Who Knocked Down The Shopper Who Asked Her To Wear A Face Mask Got Arrested


The woman who is believed to be responsible for the attack on a recent liver transplant recipient was arrested according to the Hackensack Police Department.

The incident happened at a Staples store in Hackensack, New Jersey, on July 29. According to the reports, 54-year-old Margot Kagan confronted a fellow shopper and asked the young woman to pull her face mask over her mouth.

Following a brief exchange of words, 25-year-old Terri Thomas allegedly launched an attack on Kagan, who is a recent liver transplant recipient according to ABC7 NY, and knocked her to the floor.

As the 54-year-old, who was using a cane to get around, landed on the floor, her tibia fractured. After the attack, Kagan ended up in the Hackensack University Medical Center where doctors performed surgery to save her leg.

As News 12 New Jersey reported, Kagan later told them she was informed by her doctors that she might not be able to step on her left leg for as long as ten weeks.

Kagan also spoke out about her decision to confront Thomas as she accused her of endangering other shoppers by refusing to wear her face mask over her mouth.

After the footage of the attack was shared by the police on Facebook, the video was viewed over 300k times.

Eventually, the authorities managed to identify the attacker as 25-year-old Terri Thomas and arrest her. She has since been charged with aggravated assault and released with a summons.

Thomas is set to appear in court on August 24.
