A woman was arrested after distributing disturbing letters in which she asked residents to return to their native countries so that their homes could be inhabited by Americans that “serve the nation.
”
52-year-old Nancy Arechiga from San Leandro, California, has been accused of targeting five different residents with racist letters.
Among other inappropriate comments, the woman ordered people to leave their homes behind and return to the countries where they were born.
“We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, inspire domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America,” the letter wrote.
“If you are a woman or man and was born in other country, return, go back, to your land immediately, fast, with urgency.”
The letter concluded as follows:
“We the People: do ordain to you to leave this house. One American, white, brave, that serves the Nation of USA is going to live here.”
As the police have confirmed, similar letters had been found in several parts of the city whereas the woman accused of distributing them was arrested after she was caught on security camera dropping of one such letter at the home of Trinny Wynn.
After the incident went viral, the woman has been cited and released from custody.
According to the San Leandro Police Department, “there is no place for hate” in their city and they “welcome people’s rights to express themselves” unless it is done “in a manner that infringes upon a community’s sense of security and wellbeing.”
