Therefore, the Duke of Cambridge did not think twice after hearing how an officer from Sandhurst and his family just couldn’t get past the Taliban. On that note, William acted swiftly and went straight to his naval officer named Rob Dixon, who personally contacted the personnel located in the Afghan region.

The 39-year-old Prince reportedly met the officer when he was undergoing training at Berkshire’s military academy. Hearing how that same officer was now stranded with no way out as the Taliban had seized complete control this past month, William knew exactly what to do to assist him.

Not only the officer but his relatives were also given full permission to board the special UK flight back home, just before the US ended their presence in Afghanistan this past week.

As of today, hundreds of people remain stranded in Kabul. And with each passing day, it now appears that hopes are slowly dwindling, no matter how many plead and cry for assistance to flee the country.

This particular officer who Prince William successfully rescued worked previously alongside UK troops. But his role left him in a vulnerable position with his family which comprised so many women and children. Thankfully, due to the efforts of Wiliam, they are now free from Taliban control and look forward to a new beginning.

After his miraculous escape, another former paratrooper commented on how William’s intervention must be commended because it was exactly in line with what is taught at the Army, especially when it comes to values.
