The heartbroken wife of a father-of-two has said the two teenage killers who took the life of her husband ‘do not deserve a place in society.

16-year-old Luke Gaukroger and 18-year-old Kiyran Earnshaw have been sentenced to minimum terms of 16 years and 22 years after they hacked their victim, Robert Wilson, with a samurai sword 100 times after he confronted them for trespassing.
CCTV footage showed how the 33-year-old victim was approaching the teenagers hanging around outside his work in Huddersfield, West Yorks.
Mr. Wilson and his colleague told the teens to go before cops arrived.
The teens then said they were looking for a lost phone and the two men helped them search before the horrific incident happened.
Earnshaw, 18, then pulled out a 20-inch sword and attacked Mr. Wilson. He passed the weapon to Gaukroger, 16, who savagely hit the helpless father. They even tried to decapitate the victim.
Elaine told the court her husband’s death was ‘completely incomprehensible,’ adding: “How on earth have we come to this and why?”
She said she received a letter from one of the assailants saying it was the ‘worst night of my life and ‘I’m sorry.’’
But the heartbroken wife told the defendants: “I want you to know you have taken the life of a much respected, admired and good man.”
She also told the court how she had been shocked to ‘feel so much hate.’
After the sentencing, Mr. Wilson’s grieving wife paid tribute to her ‘much loved husband, stepfather, brother, uncle and friend.’
“The hardest part of losing Robert has been the manner in which he lost his life. That he had such a horrific death has been hard to bear for us,” Elaine added.
“We have tried to look for positives and are thankful that it was only one life that was taken, it could quite easily have been more.
“We are just so glad that these youths are now off our streets as they obviously have no regard for anyone.
“To do what they did is incomprehensible to any “normal” human being and they do not deserve a place in society.”
