Kids cry for a number of reasons but it occurs because of the extreme level of joy or sadness.
They usually use crying, meltdowns, and show angry temper to get attention from the parents.
Babies do have a sense of understanding that they will cry in such a fashion that their parents will definitely give a rection.
The kids will get attention as if someone is about to die and that too for some petty reasons as not letting them eat cat food.
