When Mallory’s doctors suggested she have gastric bypass surgery, she wasn’t sure she wanted to do it. She had been overweight for her entire life. She began dieting at the age of eight, and by age ten she weighed 200 pounds.

The dieting didn’t work; when she finished college, she was 400 pounds. She just wasn’t sure how far she wanted to go.

So when she finally made the decision, it wasn’t an easy one. She didn’t expect that her fiancée would dump her over it.

But when she confronted her fiancée about her weight loss, he discouraged her from the surgery—not because he was worried about her safety or complications from surgery—but because he didn’t want her to lose weight.

Her surgery was scheduled just two months before her wedding, which was just enough time for her to recover and lose a bit of weight before the big day.

But when Mallory’s fiancée told her she wouldn’t love him anymore as a slimmer person, she realized she had to choose between her health and her future husband.

Mallory decided to break up with the man and move forward with her surgery. She knew that anyone she married should love her at any weight.

She knew it was a hard decision to make, but ultimately, she wanted to choose what was best for her.

Mallory lost more than 200 pounds and decided to take her weight loss one step further. She had an additional surgery to remove excess skin that was hanging on her body because of her incredible weight loss.

Mallory treated herself to a bikini because she finally felt confident wearing one. Then she bought four more in an effort to embrace her transformed body.

Mallory doesn’t regret the decision to leave her fiancée and opt for gastric bypass surgery. For her, the surgery has made her a happier and healthier person.

She also knows how hard it was to ask for help losing weight. Not everyone feels comfortable having weight loss surgery, and not everyone wants to lose weight. But for Mallory, it was a choice that changed her life.
