You don’t want to scrap that ice off your car window when you are still trying to open your eyes after waking up. Luckily, a weatherman has come up with a life hack to ease your work.

Ken Weathers (a nice name of a meteorologist) uploaded a video of him on YouTube and the video shows the man using a homemade spray to defrost his car’s frozen windshield. The ice seems to melt almost instantly when the solution is applied. The man doesn’t need a scraper. The solution is also cheap to prepare and the needed materials are found in most homes.

Based on what we see in the above picture, you should mix regular water (one part) with isopropyl or rubbing alcohol (two parts). I always knew that alcohol was a solution! Take a spray bottle and pour the mixture into the bottle for easy application. This is easy. Isn’t it?

One great characteristic of the solution is the fact that rubbing alcohol freezes at -182 degrees. Therefore, the solution can never freeze even in the coldest environment such as New England!

Perhaps you are worried about the process of preparing the spray, but it is worth it. It will save you the energy and time you would have wasted scraping the ice off your car window.

Maybe you are wondering why you shouldn’t pour some boiling water over your car’s windshield to get rid of the ice when you have no time. You SHOULD NOT do this because the windshield might crack because of the abrupt change in temperature. I know what I mean because I have experienced a bad morning because of a cracked windshield.

You may decide to purchase a de-icing spray, but you don’t have to waste money if you have some rubbing alcohol in your house. I think the most suitable solution is to prepare a homemade spray by following Ken’s instructions. It will save you time and effort. In addition, it will reduce the chances of feeling stressed and this is important because most people tend to be delicate in the morning.
