Cops in Ohio have issued a dangerous warning to parents after reports about sewing needles inserted inside Halloween candy went viral over the weekend.
The Ohio police confirmed how they found at least two cases in which the horrifying discovery was made and hence fear that more could be on the rise.
Moreover, the cops also spoke about how the candy bars that were reportedly tampered with were distributed during the process of trick or treating on Halloween.
“We have just made the horrifying discovery in two candy bars. These were distributed in Fostoria town,” the police went on to explain in a statement released to the press on Saturday.
In addition to that, the police also spoke about how they were only aware of 2 candy bars being involved. But at the same time, they boldly mentioned how they take threats like this so seriously and hence were beyond shocked about how anyone could be so demented in the head to carry out an act like that.
“We don’t seem to understand how anyone could possibly wish to hurt kids that arise from our community,” Ohio Police Chief Keith Loreno mentioned in his statement during a press conference.
The reports have been described by parents as highly disturbing as this is one occasion that many children look forward to throughout the year. But now, parents are being urged to double-check all of their children’s candy treats after one unidentified child found a sewing needle inside his chocolate bar.
The candy was detailed as the popular KitKat chocolate that he received while trick or treating around his neighborhood, officials explained in relation to one of the cases.
But if that was not scary enough, police officials received another alarming call about a needle being planted inside a Sour Patch candy.
