Parents have issued a grave warning about the dangerous detail in this baby’s nursery.

The photo was shared by a mother to a Facebook group Kmart Home Décor and Hacks. It shows a decorated baby girl’s nursery room with furniture, a rug, and a large hanging artwork near the cot.

But many parents warned that the child could easily pull the canvas down once she’s standing on her own.

One mother wrote: “I don’t want to be a negative Nancy, but I highly recommend you move that picture to a different wall. That’s just a disaster waiting to happen.”

Another said that “having a bare wall is better than a smothered baby.”

A third added: “It looks absolutely stunning but be careful with the picture hanging above bub’s cot.”

According to Kid Safe Australia, around 150 Australian children under the age of 14 are killed and over 68,000 are hospitalized every year because of unintentional injuries including accidents involving regular household items.

Most common causes of childhood injuries include falls from furniture such as changing tables and cots, and big fixtures like televisions and bookcases crashing down on top of children.

The parent who shared her daughter’s nursery photo replied to worried parents, saying: “I am a parent myself already too and will always ensure my children’s safety is at the forefront.”

“She won’t be in there to start and will need to make adjustments as needed to keep it a safe space for her,” the mother added.

One person commented: “I think that is why a lot of parents put those stick on wall decals behind the crib. Totally safe and some are really cute!”

Another wrote: “Seriously, if parents don’t know by now, will they ever learn?”
