As the veteran revealed, he was fined £60 ($78) after parking his vehicle in a disabled bay to take a nap while attending an event in Sheffield.

According to Christopher, he is a Blue Badge owner with the right to park in disabled bays. However, he could not display the permit at the time of the incident because the badge was being renewed.

Though the permit was not displayed, Christopher believes that the warden who fined him must have noticed his prosthetics because they were on display while he was sleeping in his car.

In addition, the veteran suggested that the Vehicle Control Services worker should have noticed his wheelchair which was positioned in the back of the car.

“The warden must have been really sneaky to do it all while I was sleeping,” the veteran said in an interview with The Sun.

“He never put a ticket on the windscreen because I would have woken up and I would have explained that I didn’t have my Blue Badge with me because it was being renewed.”

Following the incident, Christopher had appealed the fine only to be turned down and forced to pay an increased penalty of £150 ($195).
