Recently, Vice President Kamal Harris has been accused for disrespecting Memorial Day by not acknowledging the fallen soldiers of the nation.
She posts on her social media platform, Twitter, to “Enjoy the long weekend,” with no mention of anything else.
She has also attached a candid photo of herself smiling. The tweet is posted hours after posting a tweet that had praised Midshipman Sydney Barber who has been pronounced as the first black woman to be serving as a Brigade Commander at the U.S. Naval Academy.

A National Guard Lieutenant Colonel, Adam Kinzinger, tells the public that her tweet is “tone deaf.” He says to “enjoy your freedom purchased by many who died for it.”
Another user, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, says that even her son, 7, understands “what this weekend is about.”

Tony Lederer responds to her tweet with a picture attached, captioning it as “Don’t forget why we have a long weekend!”
Lederer is identified as a “Master Chief Petty Officer” in the Navy and the picture represents a picture of the Vietnam Memorial.
