The 18-year-old who kidnapped 4-year-old Cash Gernon before killing him and dumping his lifeless body on a street returned to the house to abduct the victim’s twin brother.
Home surveillance footage obtained by Daily Mail shows the horrifying moment Darriynn Brown looks over the crib of Cater Gernon as his twin brother’s lifeless body lay on a street just a half-mile away.
The teen reaches down to take the boy when he was disturbed by a sound. He then fled the scene and left Carter sleeping in his crib.
In the footage, Brown quietly enters the bedroom shared by the brothers. He was dressed in a hoodie, sweatpants, and sneakers as he hovers menacingly over the twins.
He stares at the children before extending his arms over Cash. He then quickly picks up the boy and runs out of the room.
The incident occurred at the home located on the 7500 block of Florida Parkway.
Cash was found lying in a pool of blood after being stabbed multiple times with what police described as an ‘edged weapon.’
Another video shows Brown returning to the room to get Carter but leaves without the boy as he appears to be scared off by a sound.
Monica Sherrod, who identified herself as the guardian of the children, identified Brown to police after watching the video.
The twins’ bedroom is located at the back of the house and away from other family members’ rooms.
Sherrod told Daily Mail that Brown managed to enter the house by coming through an unlocked garage door.
“Other footage shows him returning at 7 am. It seemed he was spooked by someone,” she said. “It chills me to think that he could have been coming back for Carter.”
Brown’s bond is set at $1.5 million.
