A video of a strange creature which internet users have likened to elf ‘Dobby’ from the Harry Potter series has gone viral online.
The shocking footage was filmed by Vivian Gomez who spotted the ‘elf’ roaming through her driveway.
Taking to Facebook, the woman, from Colorado, wrote with the video: ‘So I woke up Sunday morning and saw this on my camera and am trying to figure out… what the heck??
‘First I saw the shadow walking from my front door then I saw this thing….has anyone else seen this on their cameras?? The other two cameras didn’t pick it up for some reason.’
The video was shared more than 118,000 times by Facebook users, who said the strange ‘thing’ resembled elf Dobby from the Harry Potter movies.
One Twitter user joked: ‘Y’all are so dumb just because Dobby died in the movie doesn’t mean Dobby the actor is dead in real life! Gosh some people don’t understand how movies work clearly.’
Another quipped: ‘Why does “Dobby” look like he just stumbled out of the bar at 3am.’
One user wrote: ‘idk why but the way moving his arms about halfway thru this video is so wholesome like he look so excited to be out in the world.’
Someone said: ‘Dobby is a free elf.’
One amazed person remarked: ‘Dobby Jokes aside WTF is that creature.’
Some people also said the video was fake and had been ‘photoshopped,’ but Gomez maintained that it was real.
‘I’ve watched it over and over and keep lights on inside now,’ she said.
One person asked: ‘Do you have a Ring doorbell? The motion sensors will alert you as soon as anyone comes near your property. So creepy!!! Are you sure you’re not pulling our legs?! Lol’
The woman replied: ‘No Ring doorbell just cameras. How can I fake that? I’m not that tech savvy unfortunately.’
Someone surmised that the ‘thing’ in the video could be a child, writing: ‘If u look at it really close when video is large it looks like a kid in flip flops and underwear.
‘When he gets to the driveway it looks like he has under wear and shorts or something on its head.’
However, Gomes said she filmed the footage at 8.59pm and it wasn’t possible for kids to mess around there at that time.
