A 94-year-old veteran has been cheering on students for the last 10 years as he gives them fist bumps and life advice.
Wally Richardson stands outside Marina Village Middle School in El Dorado Hills, California and greets the students before they start their school day.
The U.S. Navy Vet motivates the students and gives them fist bumps before they start their day.
Gina Arnold was dropping her daughter Audrey to school when she first came to know about Richardson.
Audrey asked her mom to drop her outside the school so she could talk to the ‘cute, little old man’.
When Gina asked about him, Audrey told her mom that an elderly man stands outside the school and encourages them before they start their day.
Audrey told her mom: “He stands at the steps where you drop me off and encourages all the students as they walk in. He talks about kindness and gives us advice and fist bumps! It’s the best part of the day!”
When Gina spotted Richardson standing outside and motivating the students, she took a photo of him and shared it to her Facebook with the caption: This is literally one the coolest things I have ever seen.”
“This is exactly the kind of love and support our middle schoolers need. This man stands outside the school every day and gives the gift of encouragement to every student that comes near him. I was like lucky enough to catch one of his infamous fist bumps! I strive to be like this guy as much as possible, we all should.”
Richardson said he just loves talking to kids and encouraging them to do better in their life. He has spent 10 years of his life motivating children and will continue to do the same.
We definitely need more positive people like Richardson. He is truly an inspiration!
