As their son Luca revealed, he was unable to get them the medical help they needed because no doctor was available to take them in. According to the upset son, he also tried to alert the emergency services about his parents’ condition with little success.

According to Luca, it wasn’t until his parents’ fever reached 102.2 Fahrenheit that they were admitted to the hospital. Sadly, however, both Luigi and Severa died just hours apart from each other days later.

“They died alone, that’s how this virus works. Your loved ones are left alone and you can’t even say goodbye, hug them, try to give them some comfort,” Luca said.

While the son doesn’t blame medical professionals for his parents’ deaths, he admitted that the situation in the hospital where they died is chaotic.

“In the hospital everything is disastrous,” Luca said before claiming that doctors are forced to choose who to save and leave “the elderly to die” due to the outbreak.
