Vegan is a lifestyle where people choose not to eat meat or to consume anything at all that is coming out of an animal.
The aim of this lifestyle is to save animals from being harmed and killed with cruelty and not getting a fair chance at life. Each and every day thousands and thousands of animals are killed just for the sake of filling our stomach and wants.
While one cannot force another to choose the vegan lifestyle, these protestors tried to block the meat aisle at a supermarket just so that the customers do not buy meet but the same did not happen.
In fact, the customers ignored them and picked up meat and sausages for their meal.
The protestors wore black and had tapped their mouth and protested in Hamilton’s Countdown supermarket. The incident that was recorded on the CCTV camera shows the staff of the supermarket asking the protestors to leave or the staff will call the police.
Some shoppers ignored the activists and went on their way to pick meat for their meals while there were others who came forward to take flowers from the protestors instead.
After the command by the supermarket staff, they walked out of the store together as they sang ‘give life a chance’ all tighter. The same group took out a protest in Auckland a few days ago too.
The group says that they are at the supermarkets to peacefully mourn on the death of the victims of meat trade as their dead bodies lay in the freezing department of the supermarkets from where they are bought out to be served on a dining table each and every night.
They say that all they wish to do is to pay their respects to the animals they are unable to save because the trade will never stop and nor will the slaughter.
