A vegan’s public outcry has gone viral after the runner requested his entire neighborhood to stop grilling meat outdoors and close their windows when cooking meat inside their homes because the smell is offensive to him.
As the vegan jogger from Berkeley, California, allegedly wrote in his request, he has troubles running around the neighborhood around dinner time because he can smell what people are cooking in their homes.
Solution? He asked the entire neighborhood to change their ways so that he could run without having to smell cooked meat.
“What’s up neighborhood, one love. As a vegan runner, it’s always hard for me this time of year when the weather starts warming up and folks start opening their windows,” the vegan jogger allegedly wrote.
“Several nights a week I’m out running around dinnertime and when people have their windows open I can smell what they are cooking. I’ve noticed a sharp uptick recently in the smell of folks cooking meat and it can be quite overpowering.
“Quite honestly the odor is offensive and I’m hoping our community can have some empathy for its #plantbased neighbors by closing their windows if they are cooking meat and only putting vegetables on their bbq.”
In addition, the vegan runner went on to say he didn’t want to be a stereotype while encouraging his neighbors to follow his example and go vegan.
“I don’t want to be a stereotype, so I won’t go into detail why the odor of cooking animals is offensive. But I encourage you to do your research and join the movement of ppl who are fighting back,” he added.
