A vegan runner asked their neighbors to close their windows when cooking meat as ‘the odor is offensive.
’
The vegan runner wrote on Twitter that it’s always the most difficult time of year when the weather starts warming up as their neighbors start opening their windows at dinnertime in Berkeley, California.
The vegan said when they run around dinnertime, they can smell what they are cooking and the smell of meat is quite overpowering and offensive.
The vegan runner asked their community to keep their windows close if they are cooking meat and have some empathy for their vegan neighbors.
The vegan runner wrote at the end: ‘I don’t want to be a stereotype so I won’t go into detail on why the odor of cooking animals is offensive but I encourage you to do your research and join the movement of ppl who are fighting back.’
The post instantly went viral online and it didn’t go down well with other Twitter users.
Meat eaters trolled the vegan runner for their offensive post as one said they hate when vegan runners start running by their windows at this time of the year.
While another said they would roast an entire goat right outside just to spite the vegan runner.
One user wrote: ‘As a carnivore bbq chef, it’s always hard for me this time of year when the weather starts warming up and vegan runners start running by my windows.’
Another user said: ‘This request is offensive to my eyes, brain, and stomach, so I demand it never be made again.’
The post has got hundreds of comments and most of them are slamming the vegan runner for interfering in meat-eaters’ lives and asking them to close their windows because they cook meat.
