With the advancement of technology and the new life culture of ordering everything in, it has allowed us to be able to stay inside our homes without any need of getting out for shopping, food, grocery, or anything at all.
Just a click on the app in your phone and your mailman will deliver your parcel in no time at all.
Most of us do not have enough time to meet and take the parcels on our own, all we get to see is the mail at our doorstep when we reach. But this is not how everyone else lives. For a few people, who do not have any human contact, these mailmen are the only human contact they ever get.
Todd Holland who has been working as a USP driver for more than 25 years had an old gentleman in his delivery area that always made it a point to go and collect his parcel on his own and to make a conversation with the mailman.
One day when he was around the corner, he noticed something was not right. He was making his regular rounds but the elderly man who always came out to receive his parcel was nowhere to be seen. He waited for a few minutes and then left after keeping the parcel.
The next Tuesday when Todd came back to make the delivery he was sure that there was something very wrong here. He saw the parcel he had delivered last week was still there on the doorstep.
He called out for the old man and heard his dog barking from the inside. He knew that the man was inside so he decided to enter in. Luckily the door was unlocked and he entered in.
The dog was right there, he moved forward and saw the old man’s feet. He then rushed in and saw the man lying on the floor. Todd instantly called the ambulance.
The old man was on the floor for 7 long days. The doctor said that he could not have made it if he was there for one more night.
