US Places Afghan Evacuees On Intelligence Watch Lists After Passenger Linked To ISIS


US-based intelligence agencies are issuing warnings as they place evacuees being flown out of war-torn Kabul on the watchlist, right after discovering possible links of one passenger to ISIS.

The alarming situation put many on high alert as many Afghans could be potential candidates for the SIV or Special Immigration Visa. A total of 30,000 evacuees were flown from Kabul to a US base camp in Doha in Qatar. And that’s when agencies reportedly claim that one of the passengers had links with ISIS.

Currently, investigations into the case are in full swing as the US defense department tries to conduct strict control checks based upon biometric identification systems.

This particular Afghan who has potential links to ISIS was detected via the same screening system at Qatar’s Al-Udedid Air Base. He was reportedly evacuated from Kabul’s Airport last week, confirmed reports.

After the shocking revelation, all US-based intelligence agencies claim they are stepping up the screening process to ensure no such evacuees make their way into the US, which could further aggravate the already blown up crisis.

All evacuees are being screened and scanned via facial recognition, fingerprints, as well as iris scans too. In the same way, forces belonging to the Border Patrol and US Customs are also on high alert after the startling incident.

Out of the 30,000 taken to Qatar’s Air-Base camp, it has been estimated that around 3000 are Afghans. However, another report mentioned that the total number of Afghans stands at 6000.

Whatever the case may be, the US State Department has still refused to confirm authentic details on the whereabouts of the passenger and other details regarding his links to ISIS.point 453 |
