Uncle Harry decided to spend £8,000 on the first edition of Winnie The Pooh for his beloved nephew, Prince Louis. Harry gifted £8,000 first edition book to nephew on his Christening.
According to The Sun, Prince Harry wants to start an exclusive library for Prince Louis, in tribute to his late mother, Princess Diana.
A friend of Harry said:
“One of Harry’s happiest childhood memories was being read a bedtime story by his mother.”
“She loved all the old classics and Harry had the brilliant idea of starting a little library of first editions for Louis, Charlotte, and George to enjoy as they get older.”
“He originally wanted to get Lewis Carroll’s Through The Looking Glass, which was on sale for £24,000, but decided Winnie-The-Pooh would be more suitable for a first time.”
“Robinson Crusoe was William’s favorite book, but Harry loved all things, A.A. Milne.”
Prince Louis’ christening service took place in the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace and was attended by close friends and family.
Prince Louis wore the same historic Honiton lace christening robe which his older siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte wore.
The 11-week-old was baptized by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby, in the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace.
It was the first time that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three children were seen together as a family of five.
The Queen and Prince Philip did not attend the christening because of Queen’s busy schedule.
