Two stranded sisters who were desperate to see their aunt on the celebration of her 100th birthday ordered an Uber after they were left without other options.

Despite not expecting anyone to pick interest in their unusual route request, an Uber driver named Jesus Florentino responded and made sure the women got to where they wanted to be.

The story began when sisters Kerry Maggard and Deb Eggers from San Antonio, Texas, were left stranded in Madison, Wisconsin after their flight bound for Minneapolis got relayed to another airport due to bad weather.

The unexpected change of plans caused the sisters to miss their connecting flight and run out of ideas on how to get to the celebration in time.

“We were really scrambling at that point,” Kerry said in an interview with CNN. As she added, no rental vehicles were available at the time and other flights to Minneapolis were already fully booked.

With that said, the sisters decided to come up with plan B before giving up.

After requesting an Uber for their 200-mile trip, Deb and Kerry were stunned to see one driver respond right away.

“I was shocked that anyone picked it up,” Kerry added. “It was kind of a last resort to see if anyone would consider it. It was picked up immediately and of course, I got the message on the phone which said ‘Jesus is 7 minutes away,’ which was quite a shock.”

With a passion for driving and over 6,000 happy customers on his list, Jesus Florentino accepted the deal and made sure the sisters got to the celebration in time.

“I feel that they need to be attending the birthday and I enjoy driving, so yeah, it worked out well. It’s an important occasion, and if I was in their place I would appreciate very much someone bringing me there when there was no other way,” Florentino told CNN.

As it happens, the 200-mile ride took the trio four hours. As for Jesus, make that double, as he had to return to his city without a customer after dropping the sisters off.

“He was just a true answer to prayers that day and just the sweetest man,” Kerry said in an interview with KARE. As she added, the trip cost them $216 plus an additional $54 for the tip.
