The Wildlife SoS took both of them in where Luke and Leah are being nursed at the rescue center’s animal care unit. They are making sure that both orphaned monkeys are fed nutritional food and receive the required medication.

“We plan on reintroducing them to the wild once they have matured.”

Luke was discovered holding tightly to his dying mother in New Delhi. His mother had come into contact with a high voltage power line and was subsequently electrocuted.

A kind-hearted passer-by rushed over to help but the mother, who had been severely injured, already died.

The pedestrian then carried Luke to safety and then got in touch with Wildlife SoS through the charity’s 24-hour rescue helpline for assistance.

At their tender age, both baby monkeys cannot eat and survive on their own.

Despite being only days old, the pair quickly bonded and are now fast friends. Hours can easily pass by with them playing with different toys and enrichment and they don’t get tired of each other at all.
