Two Schoolgirls, Aged 13 And 15, Are Arrested For Murder After They Tasered A Driver And ‘Caused Crash That Killed Him’


Two schoolgirls, aged 15 and 13, have been arrested for murder in Washington DC after an UberEats driver tragically died.

Police said that the students used a stun gun in an attempt to carjack the driver, resulting in a horrific crash that killed the victim.

The devastating incident occurred in the 1200 block of Van Street SE after 4:30 pm.

Video shared with NBC4 shows a smashed Honda Accord and two police officers rescuing the two girls. Only a few steps away, an elderly man can be seen lying helplessly on the sidewalk.

The driver was identified as 66-year-old Mohammad Anwar from Springfield, Virginia. He was a father of three and a grandfather.

Police described the suspects as a 15-year-old girl from Fort Washington, Maryland and a 13-year-old girl from Southeast DC.

Officials said that Anwar was making UberEats deliveries when the two teens approached his vehicle and used a stun gun in an attempt to take his car.

A witness said the 66-year-old man ended up crashing the vehicle after putting up a fight against the carjackers.

Prosecutors claimed that the teens got into his vehicle and set the gear into drive while the elderly man was wedged between the door and the driver’s seat.

He sustained fatal injuries, including broken bones and head trauma.

“The family is devastated by this senseless crime,” Anwar’s heartbroken family said in a statement. “Mohammad Anwar was a father, a grandfather, a husband, a brother, and uncle beloved by many here in the United States and in Pakistan, his birth country.”

His niece launched a GoFundMe page to pay for a traditional funeral and it raised over $85,000.

“Words can not describe how our family is feeling currently,” Lehra Bogino wrote. “Devastation, confusion, shock, anger, heartache, and anguish are just a few that come to mind. We will carry him with us always, but it doesn’t take the pain away of losing him so tragically and so unexpectedly soon.”

The two girls made their first court appearance on Wednesday.

A judge ordered the two girls detained pending their next court appearance.
