Buying used items is always a gamble, but if we find something interesting, we will buy it eventually.
This is how our consumeristic society works.
However, in most cases, some used items still have a lot of life and efficiency left. Their history is unique, but sometimes, it goes untouched. When Priscilla Bailey spent $2.99 on an ornament at a local thrift store, she had no idea that there was a surprise awaiting her.
Priscilla said that when the ornament moved, it caught the light and had a sparkling effect. This is what made her purchase the ornament.
She said that the ornament hangs in her kitchen and when she’s doing the dishes, she sometimes gets lost staring at it.
It is a beautiful piece of artwork, she explained. The ornament has an angelic effect every time it catches the light.
One day, Priscilla found out that the ornament is not a piece of simple decoration. When she had a closer look at it, she suspected that there is something inside the ornament.
She saw something moving inside the ornament, and when she brought the flashlight, she saw two small spots, like the size of a ping-pong ball.
The heart-shaped ornament was filled with a powdery substance. It turns out to be an urn filled with ashes. Priscilla freaked out for a second as she was in possession of someone’s ashes.
But now, she and her daughter, Kat Barlett are doing everything possible to find the rightful owners of the urn. Kat said that it is a beautiful ornament and she is eager to know more about it. She had made it her goal to find the ornament’s owner.
The mom-daughter duo is hopeful that after the news coverage, they will be able to find from where it came and who this belongs to. Until then, the urn/ornament will sit for the display in their home.
