Two Astronauts Are Finally Selected For The First Ever All-Female Spacewalk


For several years astronauts have been going to space for the purpose of the spacewalk.

Men and women both have been parts of several such operations but something like this has never taken place before. These two women are going to mark history as they are the astronauts that are going to do first ever all-women spacewalk, NASA revealed.

As a part of Expedition 59, these two astronauts working with NASA, Anne McClain and Christina Koch will be the first ever women to carry out an all women spacewalk.

To support them from the ground NASA has invited Canadian Space Agency’s Kristen Facciol who works as a flight controller. She is going to be in Houston at NASA’s Johnson Space Center on the console, constantly connected with the astronauts to help them.

NASA spokesperson then revealed that the spacewalk has been scheduled on 29th of March which is going to be the first ever all-women spacewalk. She also said that this is going to be 2nd of the three scheduled. The first is scheduled to happen on 22nd March in which Anne McClain is accompanying Nick Hague.

She added “The walks were not planned this way and they were all going to be carried out in fall but the plan was changed. Also, we did not have it in mind to make it an all women crew but this also happened coincidently with 4 amazing ladies on board.”
