Identical twins don’t just exist in movies, they do exist in real life as well.

And sometimes, the real-life stories of identical twins are even more interesting than what we see in action-packed Hollywood thrillers. Here’s one such story from China.

A pair of twin brothers, from Jiamusi, Heilongjiang province of China, has been caught by police for sharing the same driving license for more than 20 years.

What led to the arrest? Well, one of them started balding over the years.

Last Thursday, Chinese traffic police pulled over one of the brothers, surnamed Yan, after they suspected him of using a revoked license.

When the cops stopped him, Yan lied that he was his younger brother, according to Chinese media.

And though the two of them looked exactly alike, the police noticed from a database that the older brother had somewhat less hair while the younger one had a full head of hair in his ID photo.

They have been using the same license for a long time until 2017 when the permit of the younger brother was revoked for driving while drunk, the Harbin Evening News reported.

Shortly after the incident, the license of the older brother was also suspended for drink-driving.

The younger brother then once again got his permit after taking a driving test, and they both again started sharing the same license.

However, cops at Ken district traffic police caught the older brother lying when they checked for information in a database.

The man’s identity was finally revealed when he was asked to remove his hat at the police station.

‘Although they looked really alike, there were some features that set them apart – including the thickness and the length of their hair,’ officer Zhao Xin said.

‘I have been using the same driver’s license with my younger brother for 20 years,’ the man was filmed revealing the truth to the officer.

‘We are twins, so we look very alike,’ he added.

The man has been fined 2,000 yuan and is currently under investigation.
