President Donald Trump’s legal team argued that the impeachment case against him is a ‘charade’ and Trump did “nothing wrong” in dealings with Ukraine.
Trump’s legal team filed a 110-page response to the charges and branded the impeachment case against trump “flimsy” and a “dangerous perversion of the constitution”.

“Under the Constitution, impeachable offenses must be defined under established law. And they must be based on objective wrongdoing, not supposed subjective motives dreamt up by a hostile faction in the House and superimposed onto a President’s entirely lawful conduct,” the document reads.
It came after the House impeachment managers released their own legal brief on Saturday. The House managers said that President Trump abused the power of his office and accused him of covering up after being caught.
In a joint statement, the House managers said the impeachment case against Trump is “simple, the facts are indisputable and the evidence is overwhelming: President Trump abused the power of his office to solicit foreign interference in our elections for his own personal political gain, thereby jeopardizing our national security, the integrity of our elections and our democracy”.
“And when the president got caught, he tried to cover it up by obstructing the House’s investigation into his misconduct.”

Trump’s lawyers said that the House Democrats’ accusations are false and dangerous and the impeachment was not the violation of any law. They also argued that Trump was right and he did nothing wrong by raising the issue of his political rivals with a foreign leader.
The lawyers argued that Trump didn’t abuse the power and the impeachment case against him should be rejected.
