President Donald Trump has become the first U.

S. president to walk from the DMZ into North Korean territory.

Trump embarked on a meeting with Dictator Kim Jong-un who hailed him as ‘courageous’ for being the first president to walk into the North territory.

They greeted each other with a handshake and Trump also praised the ‘power’ of the North Korean leader’s voice.

Through a translator, Kim told the US President: “This has a lot of significance because it means that we want to bring an end to the unpleasant past and try to create a new future, so it’s a very courageous and determined act.”

Moments after Trump took the historic walk, Kim told him: “You’re the first U.S. president to cross this line.”

Trump announced that in the ‘near future’ they would be able to reap “some good results after concrete negotiations.”

During the significant moment, photographed and filmed from both directions, Trump approached the boundary as the North Korean leader walked toward him. They shook hands at 3:45 pm local time above the concrete barrier that marks the line of demarcation.

Kim said to his counterpart: “Good to see you again. I never expected to meet you at this place.”

According to CNN, Trump invited Kim to visit the United States. He also confirmed that the visit would happen “at the right time” but added it could occur “any time” Kim desired.

“I said you, know what, at the right time, you’re going to come over. We’re going to go over there,” Trump said to reporters. “I said any time he wants to do it,” he added.

About the web of sanctions imposed on the north, Trump said, “I’m looking forward to taking them off.” He continued, “At some point during the negotiation, things can happen.”

Trump thanked Kim one more time, stressing their personal bond. “I want to thank you, chairman,” he said.

“You hear the power of that voice. Nobody’s heard that voice before. He doesn’t do few news conferences, in case you haven’t heard.”

Kim also said, “President Trump and myself, we have an excellent relationship with each other. If it wasn’t for that good relationship, it would not have been able to make this meeting possible.”
