President Donald Trump is set to become the first US president ever to address the March for Rally.
He will speak to the crowd a short distance away from the Capitol, where his attorneys defend him from charges of obstruction of Congress and abuse of power.
Trump announced his speech when he returned from the World Economic Forum in Switzerland.
He wrote on Twitter: “See you on Friday,” adding, “Big Crowd!”
Vice President Mike Pence also made a speech in 2019 while the president sent a video message. But for this year, Trump will be there in person.
March for Life President Jeanne Mancini praised the US President and his administration as ‘consistent champions for life.’
She said in a statement: “We are deeply honored to welcome President Trump to the 47th annual March for Life.
“He will be the first president in history to attend and we are so excited for him to experience in person how passionate our marchers are about life and protecting the unborn.”
The announcement of the President’s participation was made on the 47th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. It was in 1974 when March for Life started.
One internet user commented: “Too many women using abortion as a means of birth control. If you don’t want children then use protection. Abortion is murder in God’s eyes.”
Another wrote: “You still have no clue what that women went through and why she is making that decision. It’s also not your body so really none of your business.”
A third added: “He supports anti-abortion but has no problem separating kids from their moms at the border.”
