President Donald Trump Banned Foreign Nationals From Entering The US To “Shut Down” Coronavirus

President Donald Trump has said that he has offered help to China but the United States has “shut down” the coronavirus coming in from China.

In a special Super Bowl pregame interview, Trump told Fox News: “We’ve offered China help but we can’t have thousands of people coming in who may have this problem, the coronavirus.

So we’re going to see what happens, but we did shut it down.”

National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien told that Trump administration has sent experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to China for helping them as the virus continues to spread.

However, China has not yet accepted the U.S. offer.

O’Brian said: “So far, the Chinese have been more transparent certainly than in past crises and we appreciate that.

We’ve got tremendous expertise.

This is a worldwide concern.

We want to help our Chinese colleagues if we can.”

 

U.S. health officials have confirmed its eighth case of the deadly coronavirus which is believed to have originated in the central city of Wuhan.

The latest patient has recently returned from Hubei province in central China and is now in Massachusetts.

Nearly 12,000 people have been infected across the world and 259 people have been killed in China, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

Trump administration has banned foreign nationals, except the immediate family of US citizens, who have traveled in China in the last two weeks, from entering the US.

Despite confirming its eighth case, U.S. health officials have said the risks of the virus to the United States remain low.

Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said: “The risk to the American public remains low at this time, and we are working to keep this risk low.”
