Donald Trump slammed President Biden and called him out for ‘mocking’ ICE and Border Patrol with his immigration policies.
In a fiery statement, the former president lashed out at the 46th president and his migration-friendly policies and orders after a spike in migrants coming to the US border in an attempt to get into the country.
As Trump insisted, the south border “is now totally out of control” and dangerous criminals who were previously kicked out of the country could now make a return.
“Our border is now totally out of control thanks to the disastrous leadership of Joe Biden. Our great Border Patrol and ICE agents have been disrespected, demeaned, and mocked by the Biden Administration,” Trump said in a statement after it was revealed that the Border Patrol detained almost 100,000 migrants at the border in February alone.
“A mass incursion into the country by people who should not be here is happening on an hourly basis, getting worse by the minute.”
The former president went on to claim that many migrants coming to the border have existing criminal records while insisting that others pose a danger of spreading coronavirus.
“Criminals that were once promptly removed by the Administration are now being released back onto the street to commit heinous and violent crimes. ICE officers are desperate to remove these convicted criminals, but Biden won’t let them,” the Republican added.
Further blasting President Biden’s ways, Trump suggested that local communities and hospitals will be overwhelmed by the influx of migrants as he said Americans will be left without jobs.
“When I left office, we had achieved the most secure border in our country’s history. Under Biden, it will soon be worse, more dangerous, and more out of control than ever before. He has violated his oath of office to uphold our Constitution and enforce our laws,” Trump said.
Despite Trump’s worries and accusations, the White House refuses to budge, whereas Press Secretary Jen Psaki vowed to chart a path that will see children get treated with “humanity and respect.”
“We don’t take our advice or counsel from former President Trump on immigration policy, which was not only inhumane but ineffective over the last four years,” Psaki said as she blasted Trump’s statement.
“We’re going to chart our own path forward and that includes treating children with humanity and respect and ensuring they’re safe when they cross our borders.”
